Mary Rauch taught communication skills to students at Oklahoma State,
Kansas State, and Arizona State universities before arriving at the
University of Texas at San Antonio. After 12 years at UTSA and 22 total
years as a university English and Speech instructor, she moved from the
class room to the board room.
In 1988 she took her teaching skills to the business community, working
with CEOs and political candidates, judges and city council members.
Using the skills she taught, business executives began giving more
effective presentations and politicians got more votes.
She has helped thousands of people overcome the fear of speaking --
people at Coca Cola, St. Mary's Law School, Marriott
Hotels & Resorts, USAA, Rackspace, Clear Channel Communications, Washington Mutual, Martin Marietta, AT&T, and numerous other businesses,
government agencies and school districts.
A much sought after public speaker, she also "walks her talk," traveling
across the country delivering keynote addresses and after-dinner speeches.
An avid golfer, she lets her putter and driver speak for her on the golf course. She is the first woman elected to the San
Antonio Golf Association Board of Directors. In 1994 she founded the award-winning San Antonio Chapter of the Executive
Women's Golf Association.
Mary Rauch received a B.S. & M.A. in English, and successfully completed 30 hours of
post-graduate work in film and playwriting. She lives with her husband,
Jim, and three Boston Terriers - Winston, Abigail and Lilly Ann - in San Antonio, TX.
